At 29-13 and 19-6 against the tough Western Conference, things are falling into place after a shaky 12-8 start.
Coach Avery Johnson called the Mavs’ play in the second quarter of the season ‘hot and cold,’ but a definite improvement from a lethargic first quarter, during which the team seemed entrenched in the drudgery of 82 games before the playoffs.
‘I have an idea of where we’re going to be in these next 20,’ Johnson said. ‘But who knows? The NBA is cycles, you never know what’s going to happen from game to game and week to week.
